Training with Zach was such a pleasure! I came in with two goals: to prepare for a mountaineering course and to feel more confident in the gym. After 4 months of working together, I can confidently say both were achieved. The strength I built through our sessions meant I never ran out of steam on the mountain, and Zach’s tips made me much more mindful about how to take care of my body before, during, and after training. Every session was fun, motivating, and challenging. I’m really grateful to Zach for supporting my fitness journey, and I’d absolutely recommend giving personal training with him a try.

Zach is not a trainer who pumps out pre-designed workouts and phoning it in. His unique value is that he takes a genuine interest in his clients and maximizes our time with workouts that he clearly puts time into thinking through before I show up...every time. This guy was thinking about my goals and progress even when I did not want to. That extra effort made all the difference in my losing nearly 40 lbs with him. He is like the least judgemental person I have ever met. Zach's approach was about improving the person, not just the body. It's like a life coach and trainer all in one with Zach. My favorite thing about Zach was Consistency, first and foremost- Zach made sure my workouts were smart and built week after week for a balanced body, and that maximized what I liked to do with what I needed to do. He also helped teach me the "why" of what he had me doing so I could go on my own and create smart workouts without him. Before starting my fitness journey with Zach, I had previously attempted to work out, but his guidance helped me attain my fitness goals, particularly regarding my body composition. My workouts never left me feeling exhausted to the point where I couldn't continue my day, nor did they leave me dissatisfied. They were perfectly balanced, allowing me to approach my fitness journey sustainably.   Past injuries had left me apprehensive about weightlifting, but Zach's approach empowered me to pursue my fitness objectives by building muscle sustainably and injury-resistantly. For an entire year, he diligently trained me without a single session cancellation. "I’ve been working with Zach for over seven years now. Before training with him, I never stuck with a workout routine and always dealt with pain in my back, knees, and shoulders. Typically, any interruption—like vacations or other life stuff—would make me quit, but even during the long COVID hiatus, Zach’s enthusiasm and encouragement made me return.

From day one, I told him that losing weight is tough for me due to health reasons, so he’s always focused on endurance and strength instead of the scale. Zach also has this great way of building on each week’s progress, keeping me challenged without ever feeling overwhelmed. My pain is mostly gone, except for the occasional knee flare-up, but he always knows how to get me refocused on balance and strengthening exercises. And here’s the best part—I’m 56 and never feel self-conscious or old working with him. I can get up off the floor now without using my hands (and without groaning!). I genuinely couldn’t recommend him more, and at this rate, I hope to still train with Zach into my 70s.

At my first meeting with Zach, we discussed what I wanted to accomplish when working with a trainer. We agreed to work out together twice per week, and I trusted that, based on his experience, he would successfully guide me to weight loss while simultaneously getting stronger and adding muscle. During our sessions, he would also recommend dietary changes that not only helped with the weight loss but also with the strength/muscle gains.

I've only worked with one trainer, so I'm not sure that Zach's solutions for me were unique. What I can say is that they were very effective. I lost between 50 and 60 pounds, changed my diet to supplement the activities I completed in the gym, and created habit changes to include regular gym sessions. Each year since starting, my doctor has been happy with the changes I've made for better health.

Zach taught me the fundamentals by focusing on form, applying modification as needed and then advancing to building strength. His training was really effective in reaching my goals.  

I appreciated that Zach made me feel heard - he understood my vision/goal and the parameters of a busy schedule when designing the program (3-day training program vs. 5-day program). He was very good at catching things and providing solutions to improve performance, e.g., if my heels were lifting during a squat, he would show and assign mobility/stretches - or when I mentioned feeling "stuck"/not making progress, suggesting tracking macros with a nutritionist, etc.  Also, I could not do a single pull-up, so that's another goal I set for Zach, and he helped me get there. 

Overall, I would say the unique thing is listening to the client and understanding their goal and vision to deliver against those effectively. Working with Zach felt like my goals were his goals because he was equally engaged and focused on getting me there as I was.

Training with Zach has been like a dose of sunshine sprinkled into my days. I’ve been training with trainers for the past twenty years... All different kinds of coaches for different things while exploring the world of finding optimal health.  I can honestly say that I haven’t ever been able to get into the shape I’m in since training with Zach. Wow. I have been stuck at a size 12 for years..after training with Zach for just 10 months I’m down to a size 6 and still shrinking! Large shirts have become smalls and xtra smalls…In the past, I was almost always chronically sore when training. I’m not like that with Zach. He takes such good care with knowing how to make sure you’re functioning properly and not getting hurt…His energy is all around inspiring to be around. I would absolutely without a shadow of a doubt recommend him!! He’s a great person, very professional and takes his role very seriously…and it sure is paying off for me!!! Thank you so much, Zach!!

He did not make things overly complicated, which I appreciated. He kept it to the basics for me, and that worked. We really focused on form for all my movements to ensure I would avoid any injury. He would answer any questions I had and really cared that I met my goals. I appreciate the effort he put into my training program. While it was hard, he kept me accountable and wanted to see me reach my goals. He gave feedback on where I could improve, such as food swaps or areas to focus on more. I would HIGHLY recommend Zach to anyone who is looking to make a change in their life and needs someone who will help them reach their goals.

I've been training with Zach for almost 3 years and it has been great. He is very passionate about training his clients. He takes the time to understand your goals and creates a workout plan that helps you get stronger the right way.
